CHICAGO, IL – JULY 2, 2024 –
PatientIQ today announced the launch of two initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes data collection and addressing evolving mandates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). These initiatives, including the collection of OAS CAHPS surveys and offering call center support, represent PatientIQ’s long-standing belief in capturing the patient voice to improve clinical care
Firstly, PatientIQ can now support the collection and submission of Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (OAS CAHPS) surveys. In partnership with Arbor Associates, PatientIQ collects mandatory OAS CAHPS surveys on behalf of healthcare providers and submits them to CMS. While PatientIQ has long prioritized the collection of patient satisfaction data, this partnership allows the company to further support its hospital outpatient department (HOPD) and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) customers by ensuring regulatory compliance. If an HOPD or ASC does not conduct and submit OAS CAHPS surveys as part of the quality reporting requirement, they will receive a reduction in their annual fee schedule update.
The second initiative introduces call center support alongside PatientIQ’s existing text and email data collection methods. This addition bolsters PatientIQ’s already industry-leading patient compliance rates while accommodating diverse patient demographics and preferences. The platform’s automated outreach ensures efficient and personalized communication with patients, maximizing reach and effectiveness.
“Our collection and submission of OAS CAHPS surveys, alongside our enhanced data collection capabilities, reflects our unwavering dedication to capturing and integrating the patient perspective into outcomes analysis,” said Matthew Gitelis, CEO of PatientIQ. “We are pleased that the industry continues to adopt patient-reported outcomes data as an essential metric for assessing care quality and we plan to continue investing in opportunities that capture this data in the most patient-centered way.”
In addition to patient outcomes data collection, PatientIQ leverages a proprietary analytics engine that enables healthcare providers to easily draw actionable insights from their datasets. Analytics are accessible in the electronic health record (EHR), directly within the patient chart, to enhance clinical decision making at the point of care.
